Appreciation, IV: The Hilary Duff Christmas Shrine

These sit at the base of the stairway. Every day, many times a day, the passerby is graced with this stunning, yet festive, fusion of visual teasers. The most exciting part about this choice placement, so close to the final staging trashcan, is that I am left wondering whether it will one day be re-integrated among the apartment fixtures, or simply make it the rest of the way to the dumpster. Most likely.... neither.

Appreciation, take 3: Mirror on Bench combo

Rarely a day passes that I don't leave the apartment wondering, "Say, I wonder how my knees are looking." This juxtaposition seems to do the trick. Someday, if (fingers crossed!) I manage to fit into a size 2, I hope to be able to sit down and prune myself, knowing that the droppings will eventually disappear.

Appreciation, Part II

Let's not forget to give thanks for the video game which has been
sitting here for years on end. It does work!! My apartment door is
just to the left of the game-- you can probably see it right there.
This does not cause any need for pause or reservation while
playing. I learned some big words one time when my neighbor was
playing this. Loudly.

Appreciation

Let's all take a moment to pay tribute to something so easily overlooked due to its hulking presence, its longevity, its crossing over into "furniture" status:

The BIGSCREEN television.

For the last several months, this furniture has served as a surface for the depositing of many other items: cleaners, varnish, meals, recyclables, mails, home improvement. By far, the best growth was the smaller television set which has been perched up top for nearly as long as the base itself.
